General Introduction

The Huddy-supported Child Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Compass can help parents and caregivers identify new cases of ADHD in children and teenagers younger than 16. The ADHD initial assessment was developed using the DSM-5’s diagnostic criteria for ADHD in children. Answer the questions and share baseline results (score summary).

The Child ADHD Compass also includes three ADHD indicators, which parents monitor in the form of trackables to provide additional assessment data or monitor their child’s symptoms over time.

Brief Description:
The Child ADHD Initial Assessment is an 18-item questionnaire that measures indicators of ADHD in children and teenagers younger than 16. The assessment asks parents about the frequency of their child’s symptoms over 30-day and the impact these symptoms have on their school and home performance.

You and your doctor can use this Compass to determine your child’s risk for ADHD. It features 5-point Likert scale responses corresponding to the frequency of symptoms (0 = never/rarely, 1 = sometimes, 3 = often, and 5= always). Your scores range from 0 to 90, with lower scores indicating lower risks. The assessment has a cut-off score of 59; scores 59 or greater mean that you should consult with a medical professional to determine your next steps.
